My son bought this book using my account. Here is his review: I recently purchased the Canon camera and was having trouble learning to use it. I have a learning disability and Mom recommended this book saying it would be easier for me to read. It is very easy to read and easy to understand for beginning photographers, especially ones with learning disabilities. After using the camera (I absolutely love it), and getting stuck on something, I go to the book to get help and suggestions and so far I have always found answers to the questions I needed help with. It is very informative for beginners and has more information than I will be able to absorb in a year's time. But believe you me, I am having a ball learning!!! I very, very highly recommend this book to a beginning photographer, with or without a learning disability!! It is detailed enough when I need the details but also has illustrations of what it is talking about which greatly enhances the teaching for me. It is amusing and holds interest very well. Get this book to go with your new camera and then later after learning the basics about your new camera, get a more advanced one if you want or need it. That's what I am going to do and am having a fabulous time doing it.

I haven't come close to reading the entire book, but so far it is just fabulous to flip through as I learn about my new T3i. You get technical info as well as tips in a down to earth, super readable format. Great pictures to illustrate the info as well. A must buy if you have the T3i!

Must Have!!

Like most people, point & shoot has been our primary choice of camera (aside from cell phone) for the last 5+ years at a minimum. I purchased this book for my wife to help her get a better understanding of all the features of the T3i I purchased her for Christmas. This book is amazing! It lays out everything in easy to understand writing. I used to shoot 35mm in high school & knew a lot about setting f-stop, shutter speed, etc. But, this book so easily explains everything in simple terms, helping me even get back into the fun of owning a more professional camera.

I would recommend this book as a MUST HAVE to anyone who purchases a T3i (or even those that do already own & want to go that extra step inside the depths of their Canon T3i's capabilities)!!

Robert E. Lee?

On January 19, 1807, in Westmoreland County, Virginia, Robert Edward Lee was born. Robert’s father was Henry Lee. His nickname was Light Horse Harry. In the Revolutionary War, he was in charge of troops that rode on horseback. He was a strong fighter, a risk-taker, a hero. He was also a good friend of George Washington.

The Lees of Virginia were famous throughout the United States. Like Henry Lee, many had fought in the Revolutionary War. Two of Robert’s cousins were among the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Robert grew up with a great love for his country. Yet, in 1861, the country he so admired was torn apart by the start of the Civil War. Robert was torn, too. He wanted the country to remain united. He did not want the South to break away from the United States and form a separate country. But that is what happened.

When asked to lead Northern troops against the South, Robert E. Lee was even more torn. How could he go to war against his friends and family who lived in Virginia? It was a hard choice. Robert thought about loyalty. He thought about honor. In the end, Robert decided to fight against the country that his forefathers helped to create. For Robert the most important thing to him was his family, and his home: Virginia.

From an American Military Historian: ABSOLUTE FAIL - **EMBARASSING** DESERVES LESS THAN ONE STAR

Page 67 discusses Lee's rise to command of the Army of Northern Virginia. Anyone remotely familiar with this knows that commanding general, Joseph Johnston, was wounded in the fighting of Seven Pines (or Fair Oaks), heading off McClellan's thrust at Richmond, Virginia. This book writes:
"Then disaster struck- Confederate General Johnston was wounded during the battle at Shiloh, Tennessee. Who could take his place? Robert E. Lee." This SOOOOOO mangled it's difficult to sort it out.

Seven Pines was fought on May 31-June 1, 1862, in Virginia. The Confederate force was the Army of Northern Virginia. Joseph Johnston was in command and was wounded.

Shiloh (Pittsburgh Landing) was fought April 6-7, 1862. The Confederate force was the Army of Mississippi. Albert Sidney Johnston was in command and died.

It seems clear that this book was written by someone who knew just enough about the War between the States to get herself in trouble, by confusing the two Johnstons. That could be forgiven, except that ANY biography of Lee is going to reference the relationship between J. Johnston and Lee, and anyone familiar with the war knows that there were a myriad of Johnstons and Johnsons...

I won't even go into errors of the summary of his views on slavery... This book is drivel... A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

I like this book a lot.

This is a great way to teach history to our young people. I really do like this book and the others in the series as well. It is very readable and the illustrations are nice. It is easy to understand and reading it would not take an enormous amount of time which is great especially for our reluctant readers. I am very pleased with this book about Robert E Lee.

An Awesome Reaource & Must Have

Such an awesome resource!! A lot of this could be considered "common sense" but when you are in a marriage relationship for any period of time (in my experience) you tend to miss the obvious! So thankful for this and the other books put together by author Nina Roesner. Her books and studies have been life changing for me and my marriage relationship!

I enjoy this book. It is funny and intense. What could improve, however, is the author is WAY out of touch with what kids are saying now. For example, in the book he says "going steady". Now kids say "going out". But it is funny and creative, that is why I rated 5 stars

Fern Stewart Welch, executive editor and co-contributor, is a veteran writer and author. Her newest book is You Can Live a Balanced Life in an Unbalanced World. Rose Winters, associate editor and co-contributor, is a documentary film producer. Her film, Finding Hearts at Peace, was recently purchased for broadcast in the Middle East. Ken Ross, Elisabeth's son, is photography editor and co-contributor of Tea with Elisabeth. His photographic work has been exhibited across the U.S., Japan, the Philippines, and Mexico. His first book, Real Taste of Life, was a collaborative effort with his mother.

Warm, rich and honest collection

Anyone wishing to know what the great Elisabeth Kubler-Ross was like as a human being and a mensch will be very moved to joy and tears by reading through the fifty-one contributions in this book. The writers of the essays range from her son Ken to Muhammad Ali to Caroline Myss to Marianne Williamson to Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York to Raymond Moody and many other good people. Pillars of the end-of-life movement and the hospice and palliative care field share reminiscences of the extremely hard working wunderkind and down-to-earth saint. No baloney. It is well worth the investment. Read it a little at a time whenever you can or whenever you need a lift. It is a great bedside reader, at night or early to rise. Savor this woman's grand purpose and set your own a bit straighter.

Worthy in-depth memories of EKR. Moved me to tears several times.

I was one of the lucky folks who knew EKR quite well...between
the early l990's and her death. I had many cups of tea with her,
spent nights in her home, etc.
This book brought back many memories..the shopping trips, the
humor, the anger, the brilliance, and the sheer power of her being.
Even though I was working all weekend when I got it, I couldn't
put it down until I'd read very word. (I introduced the 51st chapter author to EKR so received it as a gift. But its well
worth the cover price.)
Whether you knew her or not, this wonderful book brings one of the greatest women of our time to life in a down-to-earth approachable style.
I think Elisabeth would have liked it.
Its not a "phony baloney." Its the real thing.
Hats off to her son, and other friends who took on the project and brought it to completion.
A treasure of a book. I'm 2000 miles away, and would love to
go to the book signing in Arizona. Prudence wins out, but I'd
love to be there!
Highly recommended.

About the Author
Mike Walsh is a veteran journalist, broadcaster and historian of worldwide reputation. His critics are not defined by culture or ethnicity but by liars of mostly European ethnicity. A fugitive only from leftists, palace scribblers and censors, whom he dismisses as renegade Europeans, he has shrugged off their wrath over 50 years of writing. Mike has quite a pedigree. His Irish-American father, Patrick, by the time he reached 40-years of age, had fought in four conflicts. As a rebel in the Irish peoples guerrilla war against British Army’s Black and Tans. These British Army irregulars, mostly dredged from England’s prisons, were notorious for their anti-Irish viciousness. Patrick also fought in the Irish War of Independence. Mike’s father went on to fight in the most ferocious hand-to-hand battles during the Spanish Civil War. Whilst on the frontlines, he was a close associate and friend of American war correspondent, Ernest Hemingway. Such was his father’s literary merit; he formed a close and enduring friendship with Ireland’s most celebrated playwright, Sean O’Casey. Eventually, but not finally, his father served in the Royal Air Force during World War Two as an aircraft fitter / flier. Mikes mother, Kathleen, from a literary family, and who also mentored Mike’s writing skills, was a corresponding friend of Dolores Ibarruri, Spain's Civil War revolutionary La Pasionaria. Churchill the real monster

As a boy growing up in England, I believed through my school programming that Churchill was a great British hero. This book is a real eye opener containing verified quotes and information that proves Churchill was the real monster. Those behind the curtain that really run Britain and the U.S. are the root cause of all evils and wars.
This book should be used as a basis for understanding history - it will help explain what is happening today.
