I chose to give this book Five Stars because of its mechanics, Grammatics, sustenance, and, substance.

Ms. Kennedee Devoe's writing style keeps me captivated. I feel as though I am IN the book. (smiles) The honesty of real life comes off each page with such passion and emotion. Definitely a re-read. I am excited to see what is next.

An entertaining tale of friendship

Kennedee Devoe spins a tale of friendship that spans from school days to adult days with all the ups and downs that go with it. This is one crazy group of friends with some genuinely interesting experiences! You will be left laughing at parts and shaking your head at others. All in all, a very entertaining read, complete with Ms. Devoe's insightful personal thoughts about life and friendship over the years.

What About YOUR Friends?

I read this book in 1.5 days, and was forced to laugh and shake my head at the same time. While the author takes you through the journey of both the ups and downs of her friendships, you have to wonder about your own. I love how relatable the experiences are, especially knowing how catty, sneaky, and conniving women as a whole can be--especially the ones you call "friends". Again, it took me no time to finish the book. It was definitely a page turner and will have you questioning--which friend am I??

I loved it! But I hated it!

See I am a HEA kinda girl, and although this story appealed to me on every level, I hate that it is continuing saga, with no true HEA, because frankly I kinda forget details that will help me along in the next book, and because I read some many, I usually have to stop and read the first book over again before starting the long awaited second book. And there will be a second book right? (lips thinned, eyebrows up). This author better be spending lots of caffeine induced sleepless nights, fingers pounding the keyboard to bring us the next installment of Caith's wild, wild life.

This author's Paranormal Romance alter-ego never fails to provide snarky, independent, Kicka** females to partner with the OMG panty melting, smexy males. She definitely didn't fail this time around either. There are some many truly intriguing characters in this book, but they never over-shadow Caith and Sam, only enhance them. The interaction is always entertaining and surprising.

I love it and I hate it. Made me cry.

I have been a fan of Celia Kyle's for years and was a bit worried when she said she wanted to do something different. I should not have been, Celia has stepped it up a big notch.
I loved it because it was brilliant; humour, tears, love, loss, evil, good, but I hated it had no HEA.
I finished this book as quickly as I could because I just had to know what was going to happen next. This book bought so many different variables into play but did it so well.
Caith is something else entirely, the Princess of Hell with so many other things inside her but she is one heck of a heroine.
Samkiel (Sam) was just so interesting, there was a lot more going on with him than we find out in this book.
If you want something with a bit of everything this book could be for you. I will not tell you what this book is about as the blurb and other reviews will do this.
Celia Kyle you need to put your name to this book, not use a pseudonym, take the credit because it is due.
Please hurry with the next book in this series. My heart is breaking for Caith and Samkiel.

A whole lot of fun!

First in a new series by the talented Celia Kyle who is perhaps better known for her seriously hot but ever so much fun shifter stories. I note that she also writes sci fi romance under the name of Erin Tate but discovering that she is now branching out into urban fantasy had me jumping for joy! I get that not all readers want endless saucy scenes and it's a gripping, engaging story that they really seek. If what you want is a book full of action, suspense with a small amount of sexy shenanigans to warm you up then this new series just might tick all your boxes . Now add in a most unusual heroine and you just might be more than tempted to get this book.
Ok what's the basic premise ? Caith is the daughter of Lucifers sister so you'd think she is evil and pretty bad ass. Well actually it's not that straight forward as Caith has five ( yes you read that right five!) biological fathers who each added a drop of goodness into the mix! See with this author nothing is ever boring! Caith runs her bar Hells Chapel in Orlando which if you think about it is the home of a pretty famous mouse but this is definitely no Disney type fairytale . No someone is out to kill Caith but a mysterious Angel , who just happens to be Caiths own personal catnip keeps getting in the way! Oh please believe me that as far as Caith is concerned Samkiel aka Angel of destruction most definitely should get out of her town before it's too late .
Caith might not be a fairy princess with slippers but she certainly has a love of footwear and swords! She is full of snark and never lost for words and I'm thinking that not many stand up to lucifer but this gal just does not cringe from anything. It's the first book so a lot to set up but I had no trouble understanding the world building and a whole lot of fun reading this story. If action and fun is what you are searching for than Caith will be a delight!

About the Author
William Nicholson grew up in Sussex and was educated at Downside School and Christ's College, Cambridge. His plays for television include Shadowlands and Life Story, both of which won the BAFTA Best Television Drama award of their year. His first play, an adaptation of Shadowlands for stage, was Evening Standard's Best Play of 1990. He was co-writer on the film Gladiator, and his film writing credits include Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Les Miserables and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. Great book! I have had various discussions recently on colorism and its impact, that's why I was particularly drawn to this. But no matter how many discussions you have about something, sometimes it is hard to emphasize. So it was interesting reading this narrative, because I felt like I was actually in Emma Lou's shoes, giving me an expanded perspective. Definitely recommend it !

This book has to be one of the best and unfortunately, least acknowledged, of the Harlem Renaissance. Although published in 1929 it is relevant in the 21st century. The one thing most Black people can't veil is the color of their skin and this story makes that very clear. But beyond that it's about love, rejection, sacrifice and choices. I very highly recommend it.
